San Francisco: Elon Musk has confirmed that the Tesla Cybertruck will feature 4-wheel directional steering, leading to a similar feature to the Hummer EV’s “ crab mode ”.
For the past year, Musk has talked about Tesla unveiling an updated version of the Cybertruck ahead of production, which is still officially scheduled for later this year.
The CEO has now confirmed that the Tesla Cybertruck will have 4-wheel steering, Electrek reported.
“We are adding rear-wheel steering so that it can take tight turns and maneuver with high maneuverability,” Musk said.
The CEO spoke about Tesla’s Cybertruck adaptive air suspension update. He also talked about making the truck smaller. But Musk ditched that plan after a design review back in May 2020.
The company announced this week that it has produced and delivered over 200,000 vehicles in the second quarter of 2021.
In the second quarter, the EV company produced 206,421 units and delivered 201,250 units.
Musk wrote to his employees last week that Tesla was “doing well,” but they needed to “give it their all” at the end of the quarter.
